Tips To Improve Your Defense In Madden 24

Whatever game mode you play in Madden 24, having a strong defense is the most reliable and fulfilling way to win. But many players don’t know which kind of plays to call or what type of defense you should use. So this Madden 24 defense guide will help them to the series learn a few tips and tricks to improve their performance.

Tackling

Based on its tackle advantage algorithm, EA Sports changed the tackling in Madden 24:

Conservative ‘Breakdown Tackle’ - It can put out a lot of work when you are trying to deal with open-field situations.
Aggressive Dive Tackle - As the name suggests, this basically lets your defender unleash the aggressive dive tackle.
Hit Stick - Another tackle that you can use to cause fumbles. When performed, this one lets your defender deliver a head-on hit.
Cut Stick (take ball carrier’s legs out) - As opposed to The Hit Stick, this one lets your defenders go for the ball carrier’s legs which can result in fumbles. It can be really good in various open-field situations.

Knowing which tackle you should try and make is important, as it basically ensures that you are ready for different situations.

Player Positions

In Madden 24’s defense, you can play any position on the field, including DE, DT, LB, CB, Safety, and more. Choosing which one you prefer is entirely subjective, so pick the one that caters to your playstyle.

As you get better, you will want to start using a linebacker. Most people go with their middle linebacker, but that isn’t necessarily a requirement. When you control a linebacker, you generally patrol the middle of the field and jump any routes you can. If you can get a linebacker such as Fred Warner(86 OVR Core Elite - 175,700 Madden 24 Coins) that can elevate a team’s defense to the next level in the game.

Pressure

Getting pressure on a quarterback can result in a lot of good things for your defense, including getting the opposing QB rattled, forcing easy interceptions, and keeping long pass plays downfield from developing. The best result you can get from blitzing is getting sacks – taking down the QB before they can release the ball. Therefore, the more you pressure a QB, the more likely he is to make mistakes.

Additionally, you need to know when to apply pressure and when to relax. Typically, players like applying pressure almost every play, but sometimes you need to consider other things. On some plays like tosses or jet sweeps, a blitz only gives offensive players a chance to break away at the sidelines and destroy you.

And that’s it for this Madden 24 Defense Guide. We hope it helps you improve your defensive skills, making you a better and well-rounded Madden player. If you found this guide useful, then we recommend also checking out our other guides on U4gm.
