Emrakul, The Promised End is now banned
The giant octopus usually ends the game as soon as a player casts it. The card, if it doesn’t kill you on the spot (Toxic Deluge and such) is able to crash your board state and hand too, leaving you with few to no possibility to be back into the game. We believe this is too much for its real mana cost (8-9).
While having in the format an end-game card is perfectly fine, we think that The Promised End is too universal, too powerful, and it’s able to steal you a win even if your opponent is in perfect control or far ahead in the game. Yes, it costs a lot, but 8-9 mana are not much for decks which are able to deploy a constant stream of disruption such as Kess/Breya or for decks which can ramp quickly.
For being a card which enhances control strategies over other viable possibilities and for being a card which simply ends a game, denying any possibility to play around it, especially if you do not pack blue, Emrakul the Promised End is now banned.
